Welcome to Vermilion Valley Resort
at Edison Lake

Nestled in the beautiful Sierra Nevada back country, just a mile off the Pacific Crest Trail  and the John Muir Trail, Vermilion Valley Resort at Edison Lake is the type of rustic paradise that John Muir would have truly treasured!

Scenic beauty surrounds Vermilion Valley ResortBeautiful High Country scenery, acres of pine trees, and an alpine lake with 13 miles of shoreline and stocked with some of the biggest fish to be had (the state record brown trout was caught here in 1972) combine to make Vermilion Valley Resort one of the most beautiful wilderness resorts in the high Sierras.

Whether vacationing with the family, fishing with your buddies, getting away by yourself for a spell, or using our Hiker's Shuttle Service to get your Resupply Package while on the PCT/JMT, the staff will make your visit a most memorable one.

At VVR we're committed to providing superior services tailored to the needs of day-hikers, overnight and long-term backpackers, and PCT/JMT through-hikers. Since we began serving the hiking community in 1994, we've worked to upgrade our array of hiker-specific services and we continue planning for future additions based upon our hiker's input.

Our regular services include restaurant, grocery store, motel, tent cabins and marina. Backpacking supplies, including white gas by the ounce, food, and limited clothing are available, as well as hot showers, telephone, and high-speed Internet access.

Please note that the campgrounds around Mono and Edison Lake are open for campers over Memorial Holiday weekend. Spaces are available on a first come first serve basis with limited services (camp host, water etc.) until early June when the reservation system kicks in and camp hosts arrive. If you need water you can go to either Mono Hot Springs Resort or the Vermilion Valley Resort on Lake Edison. To make campsite reservations please call Reserve USA at (877) 444-6777 or online at ReserveUSA.com

It has been a tradition at VVR to offer the long distance PCT through hiker the first beverage free and PCT or JMT hikers one night in the hiker's tent cabin at no charge, and that tradition continues.  VVR is a HIKER FRIENDLY resort; most of our staff are avid hikers and campers, and we love to swap stories.  Stop in on your Pacific Crest Trail or John Muir Trail trip and take a "zero day".  We'll see you at the campfire soon!
