Fred Ramirez

Fred Ramirez has lived in the Central Valley for more than 45 years and has been fly fishing in the High Sierra for more than 33 years. Fred learned to fly fish at the young age of 12 in a small creek in the Sierras and has been doing so ever since.
“I love to fish the lakes in the High Sierra for brook trout, rainbows, and the elusive golden trout, either in a float tube or a pontoon boat. I also like to fish small creeks for brown trout. I just love to fish, period. We are blessed to have so much water here on the western slope of the Sierra.”
Fred has learned techniques by fishing all over the United States-including Alaska, in Canada, South America, and Mexico.
Fred is proud to be an active member of his local fly-fishing club, Fly Fishers for Conservation. He also actively works with the Foothill 4 H Club, teaching young kids the basics of fly fishing and fly tying.
Fred Says: “Come fish with me in my backyard; the High Sierra and I will share my passion of fly-fishing with you!”
